About

Jaime Ransome (she/her) is a Hudson Valley–based curator, artist consultant, and art history educator whose practice is grounded in curatorial activism, collaboration, and adaptability. Working primarily through fine arts exhibitions, Ransome develops immersive, community-driven projects that bridge historical art movements with contemporary social and political themes. Over the past decade, she has curated exhibitions across galleries and public spaces, championing emerging and mid-career artists and cultivating ephemeral communities through programming, artist talks, and public engagement. Now working as an independent curator through J.Ransome Curation, her work is guided by an ethos of partnership, challenging conventional gallery structures while remaining responsive to artists, spaces, and audiences.

Curation as Rebellion.

J. Ransome Curation approaches curation as rebellion in practice — not as spectacle, but as methodology. Rooted in curatorial activism and guided by collaboration, the work is adaptable, thoughtful, and responsive to context. With experience across a wide range of exhibitions and arts institutions, J. Ransome Curation understands both professional standards and when to push beyond them to create immersive, dynamic environments. Each exhibition is built through close partnership with artists and institutions, pairing artists with spaces that reflect their vision and passion — and pairing spaces with artists who align with their mission.

Consulting through Connection.

Consulting through J. Ransome Curation is grounded in connection, empathy, and strategic clarity. The practice works with emerging and mid-career artists — particularly those navigating transition or creative stagnation — to assess direction, refine positioning, and reimagine their practice for contemporary audiences and markets. Drawing from deep institutional and gallery experience, the work supports sustainable, long-term growth while honoring the integrity of the artist’s vision. This is collaborative, direct, and solution-oriented work.

Education as

Cultural Repair.

Education within J. Ransome Curation is an extension of its curatorial activism. Through lectures, youth advocacy, and responsive exhibition programming, the practice creates spaces for dialogue, context, and critical engagement. Educational work connects history to contemporary culture, equipping artists and audiences with the tools to think deeply and participate fully. Community is not an afterthought — it is central to how learning is structured and shared.
