This exhibition will include paintings, photographs, illustrations, sculpture, and mixed media work that explore the whimsical world of fairytales and storytelling. Works that feature text or narrative elements will be given special consideration.

The exhibition will open on Saturday, July 11, 3 – 5 pm and will run through September 5, 2026. All Hudson Valley artists are invited and all genres of art are considered. If you are interested in submitting work to be considered for this show, please read the submission instructions below.

CRAZY

CRAZY is an exhibition of fine art by female identifying and non-binary artists that creates a safe space for rage, protest, and performance. This art will confront the centuries old stereotype of expressive, opinionated, intelligent women being labeled as “crazy” or “loud” by making space for those feelings and presenting them as fine art. Inspired by afro-punk art movements and feminist punk music movements, CRAZY showcases art that embraces maximalist self-expression as a method of social advocacy.

CRAZY is an exhibition of art in diverse formats: paintings, pop art, installations, light art, drag performances, video art, DIY and upcycled art, conceptual performance art and sculpture. Art that has been created in response to political unrest or music is strongly encouraged. Only artworks created after 2020 will be considered for the exhibition.

We are the Guerilla Girls. We are Riot Grrl. We are Pussy Riot. We are AfroPunk. We continue the legacy of unapologetic, angry, loud women who refuse to be silenced by galleries, politicians, or sexist societal norms. We have a voice and we will use it to sing a ballad of self empowerment. They call us CRAZY, but that was just the sound check.

Invoke & Imbibe

Invoke & Imbibe is a powerful exploration of feminine power and ecstatic transformation, drawing inspiration from the frenzied, experiential rituals of the Maenads—the wild followers of Dionysus. Join us in this immersive journey where every sip and every piece of art becomes an invocation of power and a celebration of strength.

This communal experience invites artists to submit paintings, prints, archival photography, small sculptures and mixed media works that embody indulgence, mysticism, and rebellion. This exhibition celebrates the untamed spirit and transformative power of feminine energy, urging artists to embrace and express their own fierce, unapologetic femininity. Through a captivating blend of art and interactive exhibition programming, Invoke & Imbibe invites attendees to revel in hedonism and summon the goddess within. Let us come together to create an experience that is as intoxicating and transformative as the myths that inspired it.
