"Parable of the Sower" Book Club

The public is invited to join our spring exhibition guest curator, Jaime Ransome, at Ann Street Gallery for our first book club! Attendees will meet to discuss the themes and characters of Octavia Butler's “Parable of the Sower”. Jaime will guide the conversation and explore the concepts that inspired her curation of our current exhibition, The Destiny.

Jaime encourages attendees to bring topics for discussion to book club meetings in order to work through both the challenging and visionary content of the text in community.

The public is invited to attend one or all book club meetings. While reading the text sections indicated below prior to each meeting is encouraged, it is not required to be part of the conversation:

March 29 meeting will address the sections of text covering the years 2024 - 2025 (pp. 1 - 100)

April 12 meeting POSTPONED TO WEDNESDAY APRIL 16 6:30-8:30pm
April 12 meeting will address the sections of text covering the year 2026 (pp. 101 - 150)

April 26 meeting will address the sections of text covering the year 2027 (pp. 151 - 329)

The book club is free and open to the public. All are welcome.

Gallery Hours: Saturdays and Sundays from 1:00-5:00pm through May 10.

The book can be purchased locally at Golden Hour Books.
